Regarding two text fonnats, mean score for\ncontinuous text is comparatively higher than the one for non-continuous\ntext. Concerning gender, reading proficiency of the male students in this\nstudy is not lower than that of females. Moreover, different regions\npointed out different performance in reading. To be specific, apart from\nretrieving information, the students from Yangon perfonned better than\nthat of Bago in the other two aspects and two text fonnats. By\ncomparing the high achievement schools indicated by Matriculation\npassed rate(%), what can be found is that the students from Dagon are\nlower in reading performance than those of Mingalardon.
