Description
Corporate governance is a major contributing factor of the financial stability of the . Japan and Myanmar banking industries .This study highlights comparison of corporate governance between Japan and Myanmar banking industries . The corporate governance of Japanese banking industry has been closely scrutinized as one of the most important causes for the currently prolonged stagnation of Japanese economy since the 1990s. With the deep root in the long established financial structure and the traditional components of the Japanese corporate system such as the main bank system, cross shareholding, and lifetime employment, these practices are suspected to become unfashionable in the rapid globalization trend. For the creation of a stable financial system and efficient banking sector, corporate governance adjustments have been set as a high priority for the structural reform in Myanmar. As a result, th e role of bank supervision becomes dominant for improvement of banking sector stability.
