Description
This study aims to evaluate the level of mental health literacy and to identify the key factors that influence mental health literacy among Master of Public Administration (MPA) students at the Yangon University of Economics. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in March 2025, utilizing the Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) completed by 150 students. Descriptive analysis and Chi-square tests were employed to explore relationships between mental health literacy and demographic variables. The findings suggested that while the average mental health literacy among the study population is reasonably high notable differences exist between individuals. The results of statistical analysis indicated that the perception of organizational support for mental health was a significant predictor of higher mental health literacy, while gender also showed a significant association, with male participants exhibiting higher literacy levels. Other demographic variables, such as age, marital status, and education, showed no significant relationship. The study underscores the importance of workplace mental health initiatives and suggests a need to integrate mental health literacy initiatives into workplaces in Myanmar to foster supportive professional environments.
