Description
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between teachers’ job
satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study employs the descriptive
method and conducted on 168 school teachers in Shwe Pyi Thar Township. The study
reveals that the levels of teachers’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment are
moderately high. There is no variation in teachers’ job satisfaction in terms of age,
teaching positions and teaching services. However, there is significant difference in
teachers’ organizational commitment in terms of age, teaching positions and teaching
services between group of teachers. Teachers who are old have higher organizational
commitment than those who are young. There is a positive moderate
correlation between teachers’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The
enjoyment of the job reinforces their belief that the organization is a good fit for them,
fostering greater organizational commitment.
