MLC became an\nefficient regional cooperation mechanism within five years. During the COVID-19 pandemic all\nMLC countries were confronted with the impacts of the pandemic including severe social and\neconomic challenges. MLC countries recognized the need to cooperate for a smooth and speedy\nrecovery . It is interesting to find out the challenges of MLC countries achieving a sustainable\nrecovery in the post-pandemic era under the framework of Mekong Lancang Cooperation\n(MLC). With this question in mind, the objectives of the paper are to evaluate challenges of the\nrecovery in MLC countries and to explore priority areas of cooperation under the MLC\nmechanism. The findings pointed out that ML countries have five major challenges from the\npandemic.
