Abstract Green synthesis has developed prominence due to its straightforward process, low cost, environmental friendliness, profitability, efficiency in large-scale synthesis, and adaptability in using various value-added goods. The aqueous extracts (from Moringa oleifera leaves) were coupled with a precursor solution of MgSO4.7H2O (Epsom salt), followed by a solution of NaOH, resulting in a precipitate of magnesium hydroxide, in order to assess the effectiveness of the extracts as a reducing and stabilizing agent. The precipitates were calcined for 5 h at 500, 600, and 700 °C to produce magnesium oxide nanoparticles. These particles were then analyzed utilizing modern spectroscopic methods like XRD, SEM, TEM, UV-Vis, FT IR, and Raman. Using thermogravimetric differential thermal analysis (TGDTA), the thermal stability of MgO NPs was examined. The synthesis of pure, cubic, and crystalline MgO NPs with an average crystallite size of 10.39 nm was demonstrated by all the analytical data. According to this study, the synthesized MgO NPs have some bioactivities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetes, and antibacterial activity, which can be applied in biomedical environments. The fact that M. oleifera leaf is a potential source of green agents for the synthesis of nanoparticles is demonstrated by the successful production of MgO NPs achieved in this study. |
