In Bago Township, where floods often occur, no dams were constructed by successive governments before1988.Since 1988, SLORC government has implemented and constructed small and medium-sized irrigation projects to control and prevent flooding and inundation of agricultural land in Bago Township, and to provide water in summer for year-round crops. According to these projects, nine dams were constructed in Bago Township. This paper is intended to investigate the dams in Bago Township (1988-2010). Bago Township is situated in Bago district, Bago Region. It is an area affected by flood in rainy season. Therefore the government constructed nine dams to prevent annual floods and natural disaster, fresh water supply, for greenery and high yield production of crops in Bago Township.
