This study attempts to examine the determinants of factors that significantly influence the fertility in Myanmar. The secondary data collected were used in the data analysis of the study from the 2015-16 Myanmar Demographic and Health Survey. The analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA), Clog log regression model and Poisson regression model were applied in this study. According to the results of analysis of variance, it was found that the number of children ever born (CEB) is significantly influenced by women’s socio-economic, demographic and proximate factors. Furthermore, the results from Clog log regression model found that a number of determinants such as women with higher education level, husband’s education of secondary level, wealth index, marital duration, region except Bago and Magway, use of contraceptive, ideal number of children and husband desire for children have significant impact on CEB with two number of children. Moreover, the results from Poisson regression model showed that women’s age, experience of child death, marital duration, use of contraceptive, ideal number of children and region such as Kayah, Chin and Tanintharyiwere found significantly positive relationship with the number of CEB. On the other hand, women education, women employment status, wealth index of the level of middle, richer, richest, women’s age at first marriage, women head of household, and region such as Sagaing, Bago, Magway, Yangon, Shan, Ayeyarwady and Naypyitaw were found significantly negative relationship with the number of CEB.This study has been confirmed that the older women with age group (40-49) have a significantly higher number of CEB. And then, women who have higher education level, women who have employment, women who are of richest wealth index, women who were heads of household are less likely to have higher number of CEB in Myanmar.
