Consequently, there are many challenges in Myanmar power sector. Especially, the power supply–demand gap has widened and government face significant losses, then announced new electricity tariff from July 2019. This study is mainly focus on the impacts of increased electricity prices on households’ consumption behavior in Thingangyun Township, Yangon. Descriptive method is used as the research methodology with both primary and secondary data. Until the recent tariff increase, households in Myanmar enjoyed the lowest electricity tariffs. In the analysis of after increase new electricity tariff that significantly reduce households’ electricity consumption because charges are more than twice as much as before and express lower satisfaction on power outage situation.
