The settlement pattern, household unit and household decision making are studied in this paper. Myanmar nationals and Chin nationals live in Gangaw region. In their settlement patterns, their houses are built of bamboo and with wooden posts and plank floors. These get the walls from their natural environment. Traditionally, the nationals in Gangaw region are engaged in farming. Transportation in Gangaw region has now improved, and the development of the area has advanced, making the local people run convenient stores, own ten-wheel trucks and excavators, etc, get contracts for road and bridge construction and take part in the extraction of oil as per the environmental situation of the locality. As a result, the economic management in the household becomes more complicated.
