Description
This study focuses on the textile factory workers’ knowledge, attitude and
practices of health protection. The objectives of the study are to determine the level of
knowledge, attitude and existing occupational safety and health practices of textile and
garment factory workers regarding their routine activities and to examine the
relationship between sociocultural characteristics of the respondents towards
occupational safety and health issues. A total of 170 workers from Tatmadaw Textile and
Garment factory were randomly selected. The study employed a cross-sectional design
and utilized a self-administered questionnaire to collect data on the workers' socioeconomic
characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to healthpromoting
workplace activities. The study found that workers' level of knowledge,
attitude, and practices related to health-promoting workplace activities were positively
correlated. Additionally, male workers were found to have a more positive attitude,
while female workers had better knowledge and practices related to health-promoting
workplace activities.
