The study is a population-based survey identified the\ngeographically undiverse seven small villages in Nyaunggyo Village group and a\nsample of 200 household respondents aged 18 years and over, had lived for a\nminimum of 5 years, was selected from the population by means of Simple Random\nSampling Method. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square test are used to analyze the\ncollected data. Suchman\u0027s Theory of Illness and Medical Care and Anderson\u0027s\nBehavioral Model of Health Care Utilization are applied in this study. According to\nthe findings, Headache, Body ache, Cough, Acute Diarrhea and Common cold are the\nmost common minor health problems and taking informal care such as buying drugs\nfrom nearest drug stores and taking rest is the main behavior of health care utilization\nin occurrence of minor illness. Moreover, common major health problems of\nHypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Heart disease, Tuberculosis, Carcinoma are found in\nthat area and going to private specialist centers that do not locate in the village is the\nmost common behavior of the residents. A few percentage of the residents has still\nsuperstitious belief such as drinking enchanted water and consulting with monk.\nMoreover, the findings also indicate that lower community and family resources,\nlower level of education and somq wrong beliefs are significantly associated with the\nhealth care utilization of the residents.
