The main objective of this study is to analyze the effects of human resource management practices on employees' satisfaction in selected banks: Kanbawza Bank (KBZ), Ayeyarwaddy Bank (AYA), Yoma Bank (YM), Myawaddy Bank (MWD), Innwa Bank and Shwe Bank. This study was carried out in six out of twenty-four private banks in Yangon. As a sampling method, simple random sampling method was used in this study. By this way sample of 167 employees u,ere chosen from the total population of 23865 employees of selected banks. The survey instrument used in the collection of data was the questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis is used to analyze the data. The study found that compensation and benefits, training and development, working environment, work-life balance and employee empowerment have positive significant relationship with employee job satisfaction. Based on the findings of the analysis, the study suggested the banks should provide appropriate payment and benefits in line with market rate, opportunities for career development, flexible work hours to get the balance between work and life and should give authority to the employees to make decisions on their own about their day to day activities to improve employee job satisfaction. In addition, the banks should explore contemporary practices that can increase employee satisfaction. Effective HRM practices can however help organizations to increase employees' satisfaction. Therefore, this study attempt to highlight a more comprehensive understanding of employee job satisfaction based on HRM practices of private banks in Myanmar. |
