| The research paper aims to analyze the India's Act East policy and its impact on Myanmar India relations during the (2014-2020) period. India, for long, has sought to build and deepen relations with Southeast Asia. Its Look East Policy, which was conceived in 1991, is indicative of the significance placed on developing economic and strategic relations with the region. The policy creates momentum and finds a new gear in promoting ties between India and the region, specifically with a focus on Myanmar. Myanmar India relations have remained stagnant for several decades. However, Myanmar has initiated a democratic transition since 2011. The political change in Myanmar has paved the way for new opportunities to develop between the two countries. Thus, in such a context, the research attempts to analyze how the Act East Policy plays out in improving bilateral relations with Myanmar.
