A community-based descriptive study was conducted by a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches to study the awareness of mothers on preventing CSA at Hlaing Tharyar Township, Yangon. A total of 120 respondents were chosen by the multistage cluster sampling method. Data was collected by using face-to-face interviewing with a structured questionnaire. The results showed that most of the respondents had low level of knowledge about for sign and symptom of CSA, but they had proper knowledge for prevention of CSA. Moreover, they had higher mean of perception regarding CSA, but some respondents had unfavorable perception on some perceptions. There were emerged from four major themes: victim of CSA, the pivotal role of mother, perceived cause of CSA and improper law and services.
