Primary data is collected randomly selected from\n220 households through self-administered survey with structured questionnaire and\nsecondary data is obtained various report and documents from UN-Habitat, Japan\nInternational Cooperation Agency, Yangon City Development Committee, Department\nof Urban and Housing Development, General Administration Department of Hlaing\nTharyar Township. The highest percentage is hut house and followed by wooden house.\nThe majority of respondents said that their widths of house is less than 400 square feet,\nthe wall of house is used bamboo and the roof of house is iron sheet. Total houses are\nbuilt by themselves and little respondents are rental housing. These people are singly\nunits with family members and share a room is used for cooking, sleeping and living in\nthe slum area of Hlaing Tharyar Township. Therefore, the mostly respondents want a\nbetter life for poor families as the government implements them with good housing and\nliving condition.
