The finding revealed that majority of the\nrespondents agreed that the characteristics of an entrepreneur such as educational level\nhad no significant influence on the SMEs performance. The ethnicity of owners and\nmanager factors found to have significant influence on the performance of SMEs. Firm\ncharacteristics such as firm size, internet access, access of rail, access of port, select the\nenterprise hires workers and business association member were statistically significant\ninfluence on the performance of SMEs.
