Today, \nseventy percent of Myanmar’s population is engaged in small-scale agriculture. This \nstudy examined the awareness of farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in \nterms of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) and identified the incentives and \ndisincentives for farmers to adopt Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). The primary \ndata was collected by structured questionnaires for knowledge, attitude and practice on \nGAP in green gram production. The secondary data were collected from Department of \nAgriculture. In green gram production of Tatkone Township, average 97 % of farmers \nhave knowledge and average 85% of farmers can use the practices of Food Safety \nModule of GAP. Average 95% of farmers know knowledge and 74 % of farmers can \nfollow the practices of Environmental Management Module. Average 95% of farmers \nhave knowledge and average 82% of farmers use practices of Produce Quality Module. \nAverage 94% of farmers know knowledge and average 80% of farmers use practices of \nWorker health, Safety and Welfare Module. As agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy of Myanmar, sustainable agriculture is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable development objectives. Today, seventy percent of Myanmar’s population is engaged in small-scale agriculture.
