The results indicated that female persons have more\nparticipated 82.4 % of all respondents in the market. 52.7% of total respondents have not\nyet finished middle school education. 93.2% of total respondents are Burmese, Buddhists,\nand have experience in trading more than 3 years. 77% (57 out of total 74 respondents)\nhave purchased goods from other districts. 62 respondents (83.8%) do not want to change\nthe sources of purchase. almost 95% of all respondents acquired goods within 1 month.\n48 of total respondents (64.9%) are trading on credit system. Price information are\nreliable nearly 80%. Price information do not effect on trading significantly. The market\nassessment found that key food items (i.e. rice, meat, fish and vegetables) are available\nfrom traders and farmers of other districts year-round. Food availability of the main staple\nrice is sufficient for local. 80 percent of surveyed traders indicated that they would be\nwilling to participate in a voucher scheme in collaboration within a week. In order to\nmonitor food availability and traders and prices behavior, next market survey should have\na better understanding of rice production forecasts and paddy rice border-trade.
