The Security Council of the United Nations has primary\nreponsibility, under the Charter, for the maintenance of international peace and security.The International Court of\nJustice sometimes called the World Court, is the principal judical organ of the United Nations.The ICJ’s primary\nfunctions are to settle international legal disputes submitted by states and give advisory opinions on legal issues\nreferred to it by the UN. The relation between the Security Council and the International Court of Justice is the\nestablished by the Charter of the United Nations as well as by the Court’s Statute.
