The objectives of the study are to study the socio and\neconomic situations of households, to analyze the factors affecting on the\nexpenditure of households and to analyze the effect of socio-demographic and\neconomic factors on poverty of households in Kyaukpadaung Township. The first\nstage is randomly selected four wards from 12 wards of Kyaukpadaung Township\nand the second stage is randomly collected 300 households from four wards by\nusing simple random sampling method. Descriptive analysis, multiple regression\nanalysis, principle component analysis using wealth index and binary logistic\nregression are applied from primary data. Most of the household heads are middle\neducational level. Income of households per month are usually 90000-374999\nKyats. In Multiple regression analysis, monthly income, number of students and\nhousehold heads age are statistically significant.
