Description
This study was conducted to observe the incidence of helminthes parasitic eggs from faecal samples of goat from Magway Township. The study lasted from June 2017 to August 2018. This research was conducted to identify the parasite eggs from 24 samples (12 samples from each study site) of goat faeces by using simple floating and swing-head centrifuging WHO (1991) standard methods. A total of two species of trematode (Fasciola spp. and Schistosoma spp.) and three species of nematode (Ascaris spp., Bunostomum spp. and Trichuris spp.) Hookworm was most predominant parasite 68% in goat followed by Ascaris spp. 17%, Fasciola spp. 14%, Schistosoma spp. 0.56%.The lowest prevalence rate of Trichuris spp. 0.22% was observed by using simple floating method from two study sites. Hookworm was most predominant parasite 72% in goat followed by Ascaris spp.18%, Fasciola spp.10%, Schistosoma spp.0.35%.The lowest prevalence rate of Trichuris spp. 0.20% was observed by using swing-head centrifuge method from all study sites. In the present study was found that the faecal samples from site I showed higher incidence of parasites than site II in goat. This finding clearly indicates high incidence rates of helminthes parasite in goat from Magway Township.
