Effect of particle size of neem seeds, extraction temperature and time, types of solvent such as n-hexane and ethanol on the yield percent of essential oil were investigated. The physico-chemical characteristics and fatty acid profile of extracted essential oil were also determined using American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) official method and Gas Chromatography (GC). The extracted essential oil was utilized in toothpaste formulation.
