Inthis paper, we propose a phonetic error checkingalgorithm for Myanmar compound words.Firstly, we segment the sentence with longestmatching approach. Secondly, we check phoneticerror with the proposed algorithm by applyingMyanmar corpus. Finally, the system providesuggestion list which contains the correctcompound word by computing string cosinesimilarity.
