In Myanmar, where English as a foreignlanguage is actively used only in the classroom, videofilms offer excellent language exposure to studentsoutside the classroom. Videos make languagelearning enjoyable and fun. They motivate both thestudents and the teachers. The presenter explores thepossibilities of utilizing the video clips for languageteaching at tertiary level. Several video clips areselected and the content-based approach is usedto teach first year students at the University of ComputerStudies, Panglong. The video clips are used not onlyto teach language but also to release it from thestudents repertoire. The tasks are carefully plannedbeforehand and the students\u0027 knowledge of thevocabulary and topic are checked. Several tasks suchas video review, alternative ending, and summarywriting are given.
