The Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple-DES) algorithm has emerged to be the most commonly used in varying application because it is still reasonably secure. Key Distribution Center (KDC) is used for secret key sharing between sender and receiver. This can then be used to encrypt subsequent communications using a symmetric key cipher.
