Theseapplications are used concurrently by more thanone user. Online hotel reservations are becominga very popular method for booking hotel rooms.Each users of the system need to process the datawithout interfering each other as much aspossible. Moreover users can reserve the sameroom simultaneously. Therefore concurrencycontrol is needed in the reservation process ofhotel rooms. In order to operate concurrently on adatabase for transaction, a protocol must beadopted to coordinate their activities. Optimisticconcurrency control (OCC) is generally used inenvironments with low data contention.Whenconflicts are rare, transactions can completewithout the expense of managing locks andwithout having transactions wait for othertransactions\u0027 locks to clear, leading to higherthroughput than pessimistic concurrency controlmethods.The data driven base timestampmanagement algorithm is timestamp basedoptimistic concurrency control approach. Insteadof assigning timestamps to transactions, thisprotocol assigns read and write timestamps todata items and uses them to lazily compute a validcommit timestamp for each transaction.
