Self-control Scale\n(SCS) developed by Tangney, Baumeister, \u0026 Boone (2004) and\nInterpersonal Communication Inventory (ICI) developed by Bienvenu\n(1974) were used as instruments. A total of 552 Grade 9 students from\nfour Basic Education High Schools in Amarapura Township were\nselected by using simple random sampling technique. The results\nrevealed that there were no significant differences in self-control of the\nstudents by gender and parents’ education levels. Concerning students’\ninterpersonal communication skills, gender and mother’s education\nlevel were related factors of students’ interpersonal communication\nskills whereas interpersonal communication skills do not depend on\nfather’s education level and school. The students’ self-control was\nfound to be positively correlated with interpersonal communication\nskills.
