However, conservation efforts are still low and insufficient in Myanmar. Specifically, knowledge, awareness and value placed on these cultural heritages among residents are also in need. This study aims to explore the awareness of local people on conservation of cultural heritage, U Bein Bridge, in Mandalay Region and their willingness to pay for conservation of the Bridge. Descriptive method is used based on primary data, collected through surveying 200 respondents from four townships of the urban and rural areas of the Mandalay District. The study found that respondents have only medium level awareness towards heritage conservation as well as for conservation of U Bein Bridge in particular. Moreover, majority of the respondents willing to pay Ks 5,000 as annual contribution for conservation of the Bridge and among them some are willing to contribute more than the set amount, Ks 5,000 per year.
