This study focuses on non-farm economic activities in selected villages. The objective of this study is to analyze how non-farm businesses have an effect on the income and socio-economic conditions. By using random sampling method, 167 sample households from two villages were selected with structured questionnaire. It is found that non-farm businesses are important for rural households and provide additional income that enables households to spend more on their basic needs including food, education and health care. The average income of households with non-farm activities is higher than that of households with only farm activity.
