The mungbean (Vigna radiata) is a member of the Fabaceae, consist of around 20 000 species. With the rapid increase in the number of germplasm collections, many gene banks face problems of redundant resources. To cope with this problem, the development of allele mining set is especially important. Our present study support the efficiency of PowerCore in the development of core set from 705 collected accessions using AFLP markers. The result will be useful, especially for reducing the redundant resources in the gene bank and allele mining from a large germplasm collection.
