This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive survey design. Data were collected from 300 respondents who are active users of KBZ mobile banking services in Sagaing by using a simple random sampling method. A structured questionnaire was used to gather primary data, and all measurement items were assessed using a seven-point Likert scale. The secondary data were collected from journal, articles, textbooks, thesis and internet website. Description
This study aims to explore the effect of perceived risk on users’ intention to use mobile banking at KBZ Bank, Sagaing. Especially, this study focuses on five dimensions of perceived risk such as financial risk, performance risk, security risk, time risk and psychological risk. To analyze the data, SPSS was used for personal profile, reliability analysis for each factor of items, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal that perceived risk has a negative effect on users’ intention to use mobile banking services. Among the five dimensions, time risk and psychological risk have a significant negative effect on users’ intention, while financial risk, performance risk, and security risk have not a significant negative effect on users’ intention. These results suggest that users are more concerned about time-related issues such as delays and complexity, as well as psychological factors including anxiety and lack of confidence, rather than financial or security-related risks.
This study contributes to both theoretical and practical knowledge by examining perceived risk in the context of mobile banking adoption. The findings provide important implications for KBZ Bank to reduce perceived risks by improving system efficiency, simplifying transaction processes, and enhancing user support. In addition, the study offers literature implications regarding perceived risk dimensions and users’ behavioral intention in the digital banking sector.
