The objectives of the research are to explore the types of translation methods used in \nthe short story A Brother Like That by Dan Clark based on the eight types of translation methods \nproposed by Newmark (1988), to find out which types of translation methods are the most \nfrequently used and the least frequently used in the short story A Brother Like That by Dan Clark \nand to learn how the translator convey the intention of the short story in SL (source language) \nto the TL (target language) readers accurately. After analyzing the data, the findings show that \nseven types of translations are explored except idiomatic translation. While communicative \ntranslation is the most frequently used, word-for-word translation and faithful translation are \nthe least frequently used in the short story.
