Description
Waiting in queues and service effectiveness are essential components in the business world. The objectives of the study were to identify the waiting line management practices of AYA bank and to inspect the shorter waiting time for clients and quicker service rate delivered through application of waiting line model. The methodological used for data collection was direct observation, the recording of number of customers visit, arrival time of customers, waiting time of customers, and service time of the bank. A sample of 3525 customers was collected from Bo Aung Kyaw Branch of AYA bank during bank operating hours (9:00 am – 3:00pm) from 1st to 30th September 2019 . A single queue multiple server was used for the analysis of site observation data. The findings showed that the average arrival rate was 33 customers per hour and the average service rate was 17 customers per hour. The average queue time and average service time were 4:40 minutes and 3:60 minutes respectively. There was 0.05 probability that a customer must wait for service with the five current functional servers. This AYA branch is not only fast to serve customer but they do provide added value to customer as well. Overall conclude that AYA bank at Bo Aung Kyaw branch is a successful branch at the heart of Yangon city. This study might have significant benefits to other similar service organizations in Myanmar.
