| This study investigates the effect of job stress on employee performance at Dauntless Discovery International Company Limited, Yangon which is a company operating the eDiscovery and document review services. The research specifically examines four stress factors, which are workload, time pressure, job security, and role ambiguity, and their contribution to overall job stress. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a seven-point Likert scale from employees working in the document review department. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analyses to explore the relationships between individual job stress factors, job stress, and employee performance. The findings reveal that workload and time pressure are the most significant contributors to job stress, while job security and role ambiguity also exert a considerable influence. Moreover, the results demonstrate that job stress has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance, suggesting that a manageable level of stress may act as a motivating factor within high-pressure work environments. The study offers practical implications for HR and operations managers, recommending targeted interventions such as clearer role definitions, improved workload distribution, and supportive work environments to maintain optimal performance levels. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of stress-performance dynamics within the fast-paced eDiscovery sector and offer insights for enhancing workforce effectiveness through strategic stress management. |
