This study identified components of community policing, its role in curbing crime, implementation problems and alternative strategies. A descriptive method is used with a survey. A sample was conducted with 146 respondents using structured questionnaire. Questionnaires and interviews were used to obtain primary data from respondents which were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using tables. The study revealed that the majority of respondents had average knowledge of community policing and identity the initiatives being implemented in their areas.
