Qian (2002) stated that “the\r more vocabulary a reader knows, the better he or she will be at decoding and guessing the meaning of the texts”. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the correlation between\r vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension of post- graduate students in the context of\r Myanmar. The objectives of this research are to examine the breadth and depth of learners'\r vocabulary knowledge and to explore their ability to handle reading comprehension. The\r “Background Questionnaire” and the three language tests such as “Nation’s Vocabulary Levels\r Test (1990)”, “Read’s Word Associates Test (Version 4.0)” and “TOEFL Reading\r Comprehension Test (August, 2001)” were used as the research instruments to collect the data.\r The participants of the research are 89 post-graduate students from different specializations,\r studying English for PhD preliminary course. The analyzed data reveal that there is a strong and\r positive correlation between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension of the\r participants and that learners' vocabulary knowledge clearly predicts their L2 reading\r comprehension performance."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords"},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-05-05"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Correlation between Vocabulary.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"354 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/963/files/Correlation between Vocabulary.pdf"},"version_id":"e9e7e354-d805-4e17-a076-a0bbde6f3b9c"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_journal_title":"Universities Research Journal","subitem_volume":"6"}]},"item_1583103147082":{"attribute_name":"Conference papaers","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103211336":{"attribute_name":"Books/reports/chapters","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_supervisor(s)":[]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Pa Pa Sein"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Thanda Soe"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Journal article"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2013"},"item_1583159847033":{"attribute_name":"Identifier","attribute_value":"http://umoar.mu.edu.mm/handle/123456789/60"},"item_title":"Correlation between Vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension","item_type_id":"21","owner":"1","path":["1582966863684"],"publish_date":"2020-03-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"963","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Correlation between Vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2021-12-13T01:44:55.989412+00:00"}
