A total of 50 Cirrhinus\nmrigala fingerlings were sampled monthly from Yezin fishery Station from September 2018 to\nAugust 2019 and parasitic infestation in the gills of fish were examined. Ectoparasites such as\nDactylogyrus sp., under the phylum Platyhelminthes and Trichodina sp., and Ichthyophthirius\nmultifiliis under the phylum Ciliophora were recorded. Among all these parasites the most\ndominant were Dactylogyrus sp. followed by Trichodina sp. and Ichthyophthirius multifiliis.\nDactylogyrus sp. infested in the gills with the highest prevalence (80%) in March with the mean\nintensity 4.3. The highest prevalence of Trichodina sp. (66%) was found in October 2018 and\nthe highest mean intensity was 2.8 in February 2019. However, Ichthyophthirius multifiliis was\nfound only in September with the prevalence (50%) and enormously decreased to 12% in\nOctober. Hyperplasia and hypertrophy with presence of numerous inflammatory cells and an\naccumulation of blood cells were observed at the base of secondary gill lamellae of the fish. The\nmanagement practices and pond hygiene should be adopted in nursery operation systems of the\nstudy area for producing quality fish fry for successful harvesting."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"fish"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2024-05-08"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Yu Yu Aye (559 to 568).pdf","filesize":[{"value":"580 KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/9475/files/Yu Yu Aye (559 to 568).pdf"},"version_id":"2dbbd49e-3242-4d70-9c50-3f7bb47d3554"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_issue":"2022","subitem_journal_title":"University of Yangon Research Journal 2022","subitem_pages":"559-568","subitem_volume":"Vol. 11, No.2"}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Yu Yu Aye"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Thant Zin"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Kay Lwin Tun"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Journal article"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2022-12-31"},"item_title":"Parasitic Infection in the Gills of Cirrhinus mrigala (Hamilton, 1822)","item_type_id":"21","owner":"235","path":["1582967797636"],"publish_date":"2024-05-08","publish_status":"0","recid":"9475","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Parasitic Infection in the Gills of Cirrhinus mrigala (Hamilton, 1822)"],"weko_creator_id":"235","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-05-08T05:16:49.186542+00:00"}
