Leadership styles included transformational leadership, transactional\nleadership and laissez-faire leadership. The outcomes consisted of extra effort,\neffectiveness, and organizational commitment. The data was collected from three\nprivate insurance companies that engaged in coinsurance agreement with the sample\nsize of 50 managers and 125 subordinates. The managers responded about selfperceived\nleadership styles. The subordinates responded about their perception of\nmanagers' leadership styles and its effect on performance outcomes. The result\nshowed that the insurance sector is a female dominant sector, echoed with the young\nand well-educated workforce. The results clearly found that managers are more\ninclined to transformational leadership style rather than transactional leadership style.\nManagers do active management-by-exception more than other transactional\nleadership characteristics. There exists such leadership outcomes as extra effort,\neffectiveness, satisfaction, affective commitment and normative cornmitment,\nhowever, continuance commitment is weak. In addition, it found that the more\nmanagers practice transformational leadership skills, the more employees' outcomes\ncan be expected whereas transactional and laissez-faire styles could not help\nemployees commit to their organization.
