However, humanity and social science (HSS) courses are\nadded in the engineering curriculum to attain the required credit units of general\nstudies to meet the requirements of Washington Accord in 2017. The aim of this\nempirical study is to clearly understand the current status of HSS studies in Myanmar\nengineering education system and to observe the perceptions of engineering students\nand teachers to HSS courses. Descriptive method with explanatory sequential survey\ndesign, using primary data obtained from surveys and focus group studies was used in\nthis study. The study found that the time is right for integration of HSS studies in\ntraditional techno centric education by Myanmar Engineering Council provided an\nexcellent framework to keep on the right track.
