This study aimed to explore the factors associated with\nthe occurrence of diarrhea among under-five children using the Myanmar Demographic\nand Health Survey (2015-2016) data. Total 4782 children aged under-five were\nanalyzed in this study. The descriptive statistics, Chi-square test and binary logistic\nregression model were used in the study. It was found that 12% of children had diarrhea\nbut 88% of children had not diarrhea. According to the results of Chi-square test,\nmother’s education and employment status, wealth index, age of child and duration of\nbreastfeeding were significantly associated with the diarrhea occurrence. Regarding the\nbinary logistic regression model, this study identified that children with educated\nmother, children from middle and rich households, older children, children with\ncomplete immunization, children with breastfeeding and nourished children were less\nlikely the diarrhea occurrence in Myanmar. Whereas children with employed mothers\nwere more likely the diarrhea occurrence than unemployed mothers. Government and\nhealth planners should conduct diarrhea prevention and control program especially in\nrural areas of Myanmar to raise the level of mother’s education and health awareness\nand proper nutrition of children."}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-10-19"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Zin Mar, MAS 34, 2nd Bt..pdf","filesize":[{"value":"430 KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/8319/files/Zin Mar, MAS 34, 2nd Bt..pdf"},"version_id":"7b7c901c-ae4e-468a-bc4f-4756679c7b34"}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_awarding_university":"Yangon University of Economics","subitem_supervisor(s)":[{"subitem_supervisor":"Dr. Hlaing Hlaing Moe"}]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Zin Mar"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Other"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Thesis"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2022-07-01"},"item_title":"Risk Factors Associated With Diarrhea Among Children Under-Five in Myanmar (Zin Mar, 2022)","item_type_id":"21","owner":"20","path":["1582963436320","1582965763232"],"publish_date":"2022-10-19","publish_status":"0","recid":"8319","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Risk Factors Associated With Diarrhea Among Children Under-Five in Myanmar (Zin Mar, 2022)"],"weko_creator_id":"20","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-04-08T05:51:01.402715+00:00"}
