Secondary time series data ranging from 1993 to 2018 were used \nin this study. GDP per capita was used as dependent variable for economic growth. \nLife expectancy at birth, infant mortality rate, fertility rate and health expenditure \nwere used as independent variables for health indicators. The study is mainly an \nempirical investigation which employs the Unit Root tests, Johansen Cointegration \ntest, Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and Granger Causality analysis using \nannual time series data for the period 1993-2018. The stationary of variables is \nestablished at I (1) and the cointegration test shows that long run equilibrium \nrelationship exists among the variables. The findings from the VECM showed that all \nhealth indicators have statistically significance impact on economic growth in the\nlong run. However, in the short run, only the fertility rate has impact on economic \ngrowth. This study also showed that there was unidirectional causal relationship \nrunning from economic growth to fertility rate. This study recommends that to\nachieve the great and continual economic growth, there is require extending \ninvestment in health sectors."}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-01-18"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"May Me Me Ko, MEcon(Statistics) 24.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"491 KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/8157/files/May Me Me Ko, MEcon(Statistics) 24.pdf"},"version_id":"44195680-970d-44ae-9a16-f38a6cc7b3b8"}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_awarding_university":"Yangon University of Economics","subitem_supervisor(s)":[{"subitem_supervisor":"Dr. Sanda Thein"}]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"May Me Me Ko"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Other"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Thesis"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2021-01-01"},"item_title":"The Impact of Health Indicators on Economic Growth in Myanmar (1993 - 2018) (May Me Me Ko, 2021)","item_type_id":"21","owner":"21","path":["1582963436320","1707206634013"],"publish_date":"2022-01-18","publish_status":"0","recid":"8157","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The Impact of Health Indicators on Economic Growth in Myanmar (1993 - 2018) (May Me Me Ko, 2021)"],"weko_creator_id":"21","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-05-27T03:54:44.982217+00:00"}
