Physicomechanical properties viz, tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength of the prepared PVA-starch films were determined. PVA-starch blended film with the ratio of 2:1 was appropriate for preparation of PVA-starch films. The addition of glycerol was found that it could possess good physicomechanical properties. PVA-starch films were cross linked with citric acid, a cross linker. Effect of citric acid on chemical structure and thermal properties were studied by FT-IR and TG-DTA respectively.
