It is also a systematic method to analyse learners’ errors. The present study tries to explore the errors in a corpus of 240 narrative essays written by first year to fourth year non- English Specialization students of Meiktila University in the academic year (2019-2020). It emphasizes on interlingual errors and intralingual errors. The data are analysed by using the taxonomy suggested by J.Richard et al (2002). The percentage of interlingual errors made by the first year students is 8.14% and by the second year students is 13.66% and by the third year students is 9.26% and by the fourth year students is 11.58%. The percentage of intralingual errors made by the first year students is 91.86 % and by the second year students is 86.34% and by the third year students is 90.74% and by the fourth year students is 88.42% .Findings show that the majority of students' errors is due to intralingual causes such as overgeneralization, simplification, developmental errors, and errors of avoidance whereas the errors caused by the mother tongue interference (interlingual errors) are less common."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"error analysis"},{"interim":"interlingual errors"},{"interim":"intralingual errors"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2021-01-19"}],"filename":"Moe Moe Myint.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"28.7 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/7594/files/Moe Moe Myint.pdf"},"version_id":"6dd056ef-e892-43eb-b268-f0f44b60dfdd"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_issue":"I","subitem_journal_title":"Meiktila University Research Journal,2020, Vol.XI,No.1","subitem_pages":"47-53","subitem_volume":"XI"}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Moe Moe Myint"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Journal article"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2020-08-31"},"item_title":"An Analysis of Interlingual Errors and Intralingual Errors Found in the Narrative Essay Written by Non-English Specialization Students of Meiktila University in the Academic Year (2019-20)","item_type_id":"21","owner":"183","path":["1608242063591","1608715341331"],"publish_date":"2021-01-19","publish_status":"0","recid":"7594","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["An Analysis of Interlingual Errors and Intralingual Errors Found in the Narrative Essay Written by Non-English Specialization Students of Meiktila University in the Academic Year (2019-20)"],"weko_creator_id":"183","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2022-03-24T23:17:30.449706+00:00"}
