Description
Health is one of the main elements in order to socially develop a society. Providing quality and affordable healthcare is one of the most important challenges facing many nations. Developing the health services accelerate socio-economic development. Development is not only about the rate of per capita income, but also includes basis social indicators such as life expectancy, labor force, education and health indicators. That's why this study investigates the relationship between socio- economic indicators and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) over the period 1999 - 2016 for Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) countries by using Multiple Regression Model. Despite numerous independent variables are considered in the study, the evidence reveals that IMR has a negative relation with Female Secondary School Completion Rate and explained for all CLMV countries. It is statistically significant at 1% level for the all countries except Cambodia. IMR has a positive relation with Female Contributing Family Workers and explained for Myanmar with the significant level at 1%. Similarly, IMR has a positive relation with Prevalence Rate of Pregnancy Anemia and explained for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam. It is also statistically significant at 1% level.
