Today, bricks are most often used for wall construction, especially as an ornamental outer wall surface. In modern construction practices, common bricks are categorized according to their component materials and method of manufacture. Under this classification, there are five common types such as burnt clay brick, sand lime bricks (calcium silicate bricks), concrete bricks, fly ash clay bricks and firebrick. Burnt clay bricks are the classic form of brick, created by pressing wet clay into molds, then drying and firing them in kilns. The gamma ray transmission technique is a non- destructive technique in which there is no need of direct contact between material under study and detector assembly. This type of experiment can be used to find the moisture content as the important consideration in the radiation shielding construction of houses, buildings and industries. This paper presents the experimental work of understanding the variation of gamma attenuation coefficient on moisture of clay brick using Gamma radiations. In this research, the Cs-137 radioactive source with 662 keV Gamma ray beam and Gamma ray Spectroscopy system consisting of\nNaI ( Tl ) detector and MCA were used for determination of linear attenuation coefficient of the clay brick. The clays were collected from Nabuaing village and Kattipar village in Mandalay region. The spectral analysis was made using Gamma Vision 32 software and MCA Emulator for Microsoft. In this research, the variation of linear attenuation coefficient with moisture content of the clay bricks were studied. The experimental results confirmed that the gamma linear attenuation coefficient varies with moisture content of the clay bricks. The very important result obtained by this\nexperimental work is that percentage of fractional change in linear attenuation coefficient is very close to the moisture content of the clay brick."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Attenuation Coefficient moisture"},{"interim":"clay brick"},{"interim":"Cs-137 radioactive source"},{"interim":"Gamma ray spectroscopy"},{"interim":"NaI(TL) detector"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-12-16"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Study on Gamma Attenuation Coefficient.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.8 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/6862/files/Study on Gamma Attenuation Coefficient.pdf"},"version_id":"1bd48ce3-0b84-4a3d-b482-27d3374bc5b1"}]},"item_1583103147082":{"attribute_name":"Conference papers","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_acronym":"MURC","subitem_c_date":"24-5-2019","subitem_conference_title":"Myanmar Universities’ Research Conference","subitem_place":"Yangon, Myanmar","subitem_website":"https://www.nepc.edu.mm/"}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Ei Khaing"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Myo Myo Aung"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Lay Thi Tar Oo"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Conference paper"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2019-05-24"},"item_1583159847033":{"attribute_name":"Identifier","attribute_value":"https://www.nepc.edu.mm/"},"item_title":"Study on Gamma Attenuation Coefficient with Varying Moisture Content of Clay Brick","item_type_id":"21","owner":"71","path":["1582963674932","1597397207532"],"publish_date":"2020-12-16","publish_status":"0","recid":"6862","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Study on Gamma Attenuation Coefficient with Varying Moisture Content of Clay Brick"],"weko_creator_id":"71","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2021-12-13T01:26:02.204667+00:00"}
