It is applied in many\napplications such as computer vision and biometric\napplications like face recognition, expression recognition\nand classification, security access systems, video\nsurveillance, and intelligent human computer interaction.\nA false detection rate and slow detection speed remain\nmajor problems in face detection. In this paper, we\npresent a method to avoid these problems, by combining\nskin detection and Viola and Jones Face detection. Skin\ndetection is used to reject false positive. After determining\nall possible face candidate regions, the Viola Jones\ndetector is applied to detect face. Our method has high\ndetection rate and accuracy than an individual face\ndetector. It can perform quiet well in complex\nbackground and varying lighting conditions when it is\napplied images with complex backgrounds.
