The main purpose of this research paper is to\r study important facts of wood sample based on the gamma ray attenuation technique. In this\r present research, measurements with three different kinds of wood samples were performed\r by using NaI (Tl) detector connected to MCA and a radioactive source of energy 0.662 MeV\r obtained from Cs-137 (5Ci, 30.07 yrs) at Experimental Nuclear Laboratory, Mandalay\r University. In this study, there are three parts of the experimental work. Firstly, selected\r wood samples (Kyun, Pyinkado and In) were measured with different thicknesses and\r analyzed with Gamma Vision 32 software to calculate the linear and mass attenuation\r coefficients, half value thickness and mean free path as the radiation absorption behaviors.\r Secondly, the relation between the percentage of water content and the percentage of the\r fractional changes in linear attenuation coefficients was investigated. The preliminary\r experiments have also done to understand the variation of water contents and attenuation\r coefficients of wood samples. Finally, the density obtained (i) by using the conventional\r method; (ii) at 6% moisture level and (iii) by using the nuclear attenuation method was\r calculated and compared. The measured and calculated results for the investigated samples\r were illustrated in tables and figures."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Attenuation coefficient"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-05-05"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"Lay Thi Tar Oo.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"311 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/557/files/Lay Thi Tar Oo.pdf"},"version_id":"1de02cb2-67c1-4e05-a724-135bebe8c34f"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_issue":"1","subitem_journal_title":"Yadanabon University Research Journal","subitem_volume":"9"}]},"item_1583103147082":{"attribute_name":"Conference papaers","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103211336":{"attribute_name":"Books/reports/chapters","attribute_value_mlt":[{}]},"item_1583103233624":{"attribute_name":"Thesis/dissertations","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_supervisor(s)":[]}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Lay Thi Tar Oo"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Journal article"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2018"},"item_1583159847033":{"attribute_name":"Identifier","attribute_value":"https://oar.ydbu.edu.mm/handle/123456789/272"},"item_title":"Determination of Density and Water Status of Selected Wood Samples Using Gamma Ray Attenuation Technique","item_type_id":"21","owner":"1","path":["1582966489046"],"publish_date":"2020-03-05","publish_status":"0","recid":"557","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Determination of Density and Water Status of Selected Wood Samples Using Gamma Ray Attenuation Technique"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2021-12-13T05:17:35.965774+00:00"}
