Then,\ngender difference on grade 6 students’ numeracy was explored. In addition, to examine the\nwhether or not difference between rural school students’ numeracy and urban school students’\nnumeracy was next of interest. Design of this study was cross sectional in nature. Quantitative\napproach was used in this study. Questionnaire survey method was used to measure students’\nnumeracy. This study was conducted at Yangon Region, Ayeyarwaddy Region, and Rakhine\nRegion, Myanmar. Simple random sampling technique was used in this study. The total of 546\ngrade 6 students from above mentioned Regions participated in this study. Numeracy Test for\nGrade Six Students was used as the research instrument. Alpha reliability for Numeracy Test\nfor Grade Six Students revealed at 0.85. In this study the mean score of female students was\nhigher than that of male students on three out of four subcomponents of numeracy test as well\nas the whole numeracy test. Gender related difference revealed on number operation sense\ncomponent, measurement and shape component, statistics component and the whole test of\nnumeracy. Looking across the four subcomponents, grade six students perform best on\nstatistics component and the second highest was number and operation sense among four\nsubscales of numeracy test. In addition, results also revealed that the mean score of Grade 6\nstudents from urban schools was higher than that of Grade 6 students from rural schools on\neach subscale of numeracy test as well as a whole numeracy test."}]},"item_1583103108160":{"attribute_name":"Keywords","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"numeracy, gender, rural, urban"}]},"item_1583103120197":{"attribute_name":"Files","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-09-04"}],"displaytype":"preview","filename":"An Exploratory Study of Grade 6 Students’ Numeracy(MAAS,2018,Vol.XIII, No.11B).pdf","filesize":[{"value":"501 Kb"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_0","url":{"url":"https://meral.edu.mm/record/5188/files/An Exploratory Study of Grade 6 Students’ Numeracy(MAAS,2018,Vol.XIII, No.11B).pdf"},"version_id":"6652f950-41e2-4d02-b852-7549ee4a11cd"}]},"item_1583103131163":{"attribute_name":"Journal articles","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_issue":"11B","subitem_journal_title":"Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science Journal","subitem_pages":"419-136p","subitem_volume":"XIII"}]},"item_1583105942107":{"attribute_name":"Authors","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_authors":[{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Nu Nu Nyunt"},{"subitem_authors_fullname":"Win Ei San"}]}]},"item_1583108359239":{"attribute_name":"Upload type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Publication"}]},"item_1583108428133":{"attribute_name":"Publication type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"interim":"Journal article"}]},"item_1583159729339":{"attribute_name":"Publication date","attribute_value":"2018"},"item_title":"An Exploratory Study of Grade 6 Students’ Numeracy","item_type_id":"21","owner":"57","path":["1595850089647"],"publish_date":"2020-09-04","publish_status":"0","recid":"5188","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["An Exploratory Study of Grade 6 Students’ Numeracy"],"weko_creator_id":"57","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2022-03-24T23:15:46.607718+00:00"}
