Today a variety of computer, scientificand engineering application have difficulty tostore and transmit the large size images. To solvethis problem image compression techniques areused. Two-dimensional Fourier transform (2DFT)is used for representing an image. But, theenergy of the coefficients of 2D-FT on the compleximage distributes in the whole frequency domainalso. Typically, the frequency signals are dividedinto two parts, i.e., real and imaginary parts. FFTis used for converting the image into a real imagebefore applying it to DWT.A Wavelet transformgives very strong de correlation ability and can beused for local analysis in time and frequency withdifferent scales.Wavelet transform have also beenapplied to complex image compression, as it issuitable for non-stationary signal processing. So,we can use FFT-DWT combine approach forimage compression. This system aims at theanalysis of compression using FFT-DWT byselecting proper threshold method, better resultfor PSNR have been obtained. This paper analyzesthe amount of compression by compression ratiowith the analysis of quality of image using MeanSquare Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to NoiseRatio (PSNR).
